The University has recently established a Centre for End of Life Studies (CELS), an interdisciplinary collaboration of researchers in the social sciences, arts, law, business, politics, ethics, religious and spirituality studies, palliative medicine, nursing, social work and primary care. Applications are invited from social scientists interested in any aspect of death, dying and end of life care, and bereavement. The post holder will work with Professor Margaret Holloway to support the development of research in the Centre as well as pursuing her/his own research. Engagement with external partners will form a significant part of the role, informed by a scoping study and consultation exercise completed in July 2012. The post is part-funded through Professor Holloway’s secondment to the National End of Life Care Programme and it is envisaged that small projects will be undertaken to support this work.
